This is a self portrait in chalk pastel entitled 'Who Am I?'. Last year I underwent chemotherapy treatment for Breast Cancer. I had lost my hair, my creativity, my energy, my femininity, my confidence, my career and was trying to find a way through it. Everything was stripped back and frightening. This is a soul searching piece on a day when I sat at the mirror asking myself 'Who Am I'? It was one of the most powerful days of my life as I delved deep into my existence to find hope and love. I wanted the composition to have a depth of feeling, authentic and striking.. This was a communion between spirit and flesh, a spiritual and divine connection, a timeless transmission of the human experience.
